Scouting the Hawks
The Hawks opened up the season with the first Thursday night home game in school history on September 1
st when they welcomed the Glenville State College Pioneers to the Gem City. The Pioneers came away with the 44-15 win.
Tionne Harris threw for 164 yards on 8 completions with two touchdowns. Those touchdowns were to
Jalen Lawrence and
Joseph Mitchell. Harris also rushed for 63 yards on 15 attempts.
Jalen Griffin led the ground game for the Hawks as he carried the ball 11 times for 82 yards. Through the air, Lawrence was the top target with 3 catches for 88 yards.
Scouting the Trojans
The Trojans were on the field back on August 27
th as they hosted Hastings College (Neb.) and lost 28-0.
They threw the ball 65 times, completing 28 of them. Liam Mickle and Melvin Bobo both saw time under center for TIU. Mickle was 16 of 37 for 161 yards, while Bobo was 12 of 28 for 91 yards.
Cameron Jones was their favorite target with 13 catches for 131 yards. The ground game was led by both QBs as Bobo rushed 10 times for 32 yards and Mickle ran for 22 yards on 5 carries.
