DETROIT, MICH. – The Hawk Women's Volleyball team wrapped up the weekend with two matches on Saturday (September 3) at the Wayne State University tournament. During the morning session, the Hawks swept Northwood University (25-13, 25-17, 25-17). In the afternoon session, the Hawks defeated Ursuline College in four sets (25-9, 23-25, 25-10, 25-11).
The two wins today sets a new NCAA program best start to a season with the record sitting at 8-0 now.
Mattison Norris led the Hawks with 11 kills on 27 total attempts against Northwood University.
Emily Rehagen recorded 10 kills of her own and hit .368.
Makayla Knoblauch dished out 31 assists.
Emma Wijnbergen had a team high 17 kills in the final match of the tournament for the Hawks, while hitting .481. Knoblauch added 35 assists during the four set win. The Hawks held the Ursuline College Arrows to a -.049 hitting percentage.
Alice Pavan had 9 blocks (3 solo and 6 assisted).
