ROLLA, MO- The QU Women's Volleyball team continued their scorching hot beginning to the season adding another win to their historic start. They defeated the Miners of Missouri S&T 3 sets to 1 (25-19, 25-18, 24-26, 25-23) to open up Great Lakes Valley Conference play. With this win, they now hold the record for most consecutive wins in the history of the program in the NCAA era dating back to the 1994-95 season at 11.

1st Set
The Miners played the Hawks close to a 6-6 score early on but Quincy took over the set with four straight points thanks to two attacking errors from S&T and a kill from
Emily Rehagen as well as a service ace from
Kailey Reckers giving them a 10-6 advantage. The Hawks would go on to close out the set 25-19 capped off by a kill by reigning GLVC Freshman of the Year,
Emma Wijnbergen.

2nd Set
The Second set was tightly contested through the first half finding QU down to S&T 14-16 just past the midpoint of the set. A short joust for position found Quincy taking the advantage 17-16 off a kill from
Mattison Norris, one of her team leading 17 kills for the game, followed by another kill from Emilly Rehagen. After taking the advantage the Hawks would go on to roll the set 25-18 to take a 2-0 lead.

3rd Set
The Miners took the initiative to start out, opening a five point advantage at 12-7 to open the third set. QU fought back, even taking a lead late 24-23 off a kill from
Mattison Norris but Missouri S&T eked out a 26-24 win to force a fourth set.

4th Set
The fourth and deciding set was an eventful one that saw both sides go on runs. Missouri S&T took advantage of a seven point swing mid set to open a comfortable 18-10 lead. The Hawks trailing by eight got to work winning 10 of the next 12 points to even things at 20 all. Quincy went on to take care of business and finish out the set 25-23 on a
Mattison Norris kill to end the contest.

The Hawks play host to The University of Missouri St. Louis on Saturday, September 16 at 3:00 p.m. for their home opener.
