Quincy, IL - The Quincy University tennis program ends the season against Southwest Baptist University Saturday (Apr. 23). The Hawks men's team won one of the matches while the women's team fell in all seven.
The men's team won their only match of the day behind a great performance from Zach Willing for the singles match number five. Willing played three hard sets after losing the first set on the tiebreaker. For the second set Willing managed to take the game to a tiebreaker in which he turned around the match by winning the set to tie 1-1. For the last set, Willing had played his best, winning the set 10-7 to win the only match for the Hawks.
Quincy women's team's closest match came from Blanca Salas Cruz for the singles match number two. Salas Cruz took set one after the Bearcat pushed the game to a tiebreaker, which Salas Cruz took by a 7-4 score. Blanca fell in the next two sets and lost the match. The Hawks fell to the Bearcats 7-0 to end the season.
