Box Score SAINT LOUIS, MO---The Quincy University men's basketball team fell 87-66 to the University of Missouri - St. Louis Tritons in a GLVC matchup at the Mark Twain Building on Saturday (Jan 22) afternoon.
The Hawks got their first lead early on, with Adam Moore and Solomon Gustafson scoring three-pointers to make the score 6-4 with 18:14 remaining. After falling behind, another three-pointer by Paul Zilinskas and a driving layup by Jamaurie Coakley helped turn the tide, making the score 11-9 Hawks with 14:42 on the clock. However, this was the last time the Hawks led in the game, as the half ended with the score being 39-31 Tritons.
The Hawks continued to fall behind during the second half, with the last time they came within ten points of the lead being when Malik Hardmon made two free throws to make the score 55-49. The Hawks only scored seventeen points after that, with the game ending 87-66 Tritons.
Malik Hardmon led the Hawks with 23 points and 6 rebounds in 23 minutes of playtime, with Nate Shockey scoring 16 points with 5 rebounds in 28 minutes.
