ST. JOESPH, MO – The Quincy University women's lacrosse team fell 14-7 in its season finale at Missouri Western on Sunday.
The Hawks scored the first two goals of the game from
Chloe Nott and
Danielle Robinson, but the Griffons scored three unanswered goals and led 3-2 with 5:27 to go in the first half.
Bianca Johnson scored an equalizing goal to make it 3-3, but MWSU took a 4-3 lead going into the break after scoring with just 2:27 left in the first half.
The Griffons opened the second half with a score, but Hawks' leading scorer
Danielle Robinson notched her second goal of the game to pull the Hawks within one at 5-4 with 25:15 to go.
Missouri Western responded with an offensive frenzy of six unanswered goals in less than six minutes.
The Griffons led 11-4 after this run with 15:33 left in the second half. Johnson found the back of the net for QU, and they trailed 11-5.
Missouri Western continued their offensive pace while
Heaven-Lee Nichols scored twice in the final 12 minutes of the game. The Hawks fell by a final score of 14-7.
