Women's Lacrosse Powers Past Culver

Box Score Quincy, Ill - The Quincy University women's lacrosse team got another high-powered performance from Danielle Robinson in the cross river showdown against Culver-Stockton College on Friday evening (March 5). The Hawks got their second straight win with an 18-2 victory.

Heaven-Lee Nichols won the first draw control and sprinted into Culver's defensive zone. The freshman delivered a strike from outside the 12-yard marker to score the first goal of the game, 1-0.

A forced turnover by Bianca Johnson led to a transition run by Robinson as she took a solo shot from the left wing to extend the Hawk lead 2-0. C-SC briefly answered after a free position shot hit the left post and was scooped up and scored to cut their deficit at 2-1.

Quincy put things to rest by scoring the next nine goals over the final 20 minutes of the first half. QU led 11-1 at the break.

In the second half, the defensive effort was every bit of impressive as the offense. Kelly McClure held the Wildcats scoreless on five free position shots. McClure allowed just two goals on the 19 shot attempts with nine total saves.

Robinson eclipsed her previous eight-goal performance from two nights ago by scoring five in the second half giving her a new record, eleven goals in the contest. Quincy went on to win, 18-2.
