QUINCY, Ill. - Despite scoring 53 points in the second half, the Quincy University men's basketball team fell to the Truman State Bulldogs 86-72 Saturday afternoon (Feb. 10). 

The Hawks were limited to just 19 points in the first half and were limited to 8-25 shooting by a tough Bulldog defense.  

QU was held scoreless through the first 4:49 and trailed 10-2 after the first five minutes of action.  The Hawks scored back to back baskets to cut the lead to four with 14 minutes remaining in the first half.  

After a three-pointer by Robby Dosier with 10:51 to play in the first half, the Hawks cut the Bulldog lead to 12-11.  

The score stood 15-13 with 8:44 to play in the first half.  A 14-0 run by the Bulldogs pushed the lead to 29-16.  The Bulldogs extended the lead to 42-19 after the first 20 minutes of action.  

The Hawks found their way on the offensive end in the second half.  The Bulldog lead was as large as 25 but the Hawks cut the lead to 11 with 9:00 minutes to play in the game.  

Truman State continued their offensive output in the second half, led by Zach Fischer who scored nine points in the second half.  

QU shot 62% from the field but this was not enough as the Bulldogs held on for a 14 point win.  

The Hawks were led by Demetrius Houston, who scored 17 points on 5-11 shooting.  Houston also grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists.  Marcus Hinton finished with a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
