Box Score QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's volleyball team picked up a 3-1 victory over Saginaw Valley State Friday afternoon (Hawktober 15). The Hawks picked up their first set of back to back wins on the 2017 season.
The Hawks were led by
Bobbie Eastman (Fenton, MI / Fenton) with 12 kills on 21 attacks (.476 hitting percentage).
QU won the first set 25-16. The Hawks took advantage of nine hitting errors by the Cardinals in the first set.
QU kept the momentum rolling in the second set winning 25-20. QU again took advantage of 10 hitting errors by Saginaw Valley. The Hawks never trailed in the second set.
The Hawks fell in the third set 28-26 and would be forced to try and win the match in the fourth set.
QU tallied 15 kills in the fourth set and won 25-21.
Bekah Raebel (Waterford, WI / Waterford Union) added 10 kills for the Hawks.
Taylor McMonagle (Green Bay, WI / Denmark) tallied nine kills and 20 digs. McMonagle now has over 1,000 digs in her career.
The Hawks play a pair of games tomorrow (Hawktober 14) to complete the Midwest Regional Crossover.
