Quincy Falls to No. 7 Rockhurst 3-0

QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's volleyball team started the final weekend of the regular season welcoming No. 7 Rockhurst University to Pepsi Arena on Friday (Nov. 13). RU won the match at QU 3-0. Rockhurst hit .192 as a team while holding Quincy to .014 attacking percentage.

Quincy (12-18, 6-11 GLVC) jumped out of the gate early taking a 3-1 lead with back-to-back-to-back kills from Gianna Lincoln, Taylor McMonagle, and Bekah Raebel. 

No. 7 Rockhurst (29-2, 17-0 GLVC) regrouped and took hold of the set with three straight points. They went on to win the set 25-17.

Rockhurst jumped out to an early lead in set two and was able to hold off any QU comeback to win 25-15. 

Quincy trailed 16-8 in the third set, when Emily Lindemulder sparked some offense with a kill. Three straight blocks capped by a Lindemulder solo stuff made the score 16-12. 

Rockhurst scored three straight, but Quincy came right back with two kills from Bekah Raebel and an ace from Rachel Shores.

RU went on to score six of the next seven points to win the set 25-16 and take the match 3-0.

Rockhurst was led by Alyssa Arnold with 13 kills and 15 digs. Morgan Rietzke finished with 11 kills and 19 digs. Whitney Kostal set 32 assists and recorded 11 digs.

Quincy was led by Jessica Licurgo and Bekah Raebel with six kills a piece. Rachel Shores recorded 13 digs. Miranda Rodriguez set 17 assists. 

Quincy welcomes William Jewell College tomorrow (Nov. 14) at 3:30 p.m. with senior day festivities to follow in Pepsi Arena.
