HAWKS RETURN FLYING HIGH: The Hawks return to Flinn Stadium on Saturday for the first time in three weeks, and they do so riding a three-game winning streak – their first since the 2008 season when they won four straight. QU is coming off back-to-back road wins, including a 42-28 win last week over William Jewell, which entered the game unbeaten in GLVC play. The Hawks are 2-2 at Flinn Stadium this season.

VS. THE MINERS: The Hawks are 2-5 all-time against the Miners and 0-2 since the teams first played in the GLVC in 2012. Missouri S&T defeated Quincy, 64-6, on its last visit to Flinn in 2012. The Hawks dropped a 20-3 decision in the 2013 season finale in Rolla. Those games came after an 11-year hiatus in the series, which started in 1996. The Hawks won back-to-back games in 1998 and 1999.

LAST LOOK AT LAST WEEK: The Hawks got significant contributions in all three facets of their 42-28 win at William Jewell last week. The offense outgained the Cardinals, 537-435, and scored the game's final 14 points in the last five minutes, 15 seconds. They also intercepted four passes and had a big special teams play that turned the game in the first quarter.

MORE GLVC HONORS: For the second time this season, redshirt-junior quarterback Nick Lonergan (Jacksonville, Ill.) was named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while redshirt-freshman linebacker Nate Rueckemann (McHenry, Ill.) was named the GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week. Lonergan was 25-for-41 for 350 yards and three passing touchdowns. With the final touchdown, Lonergan became the program's all-time leader in passing touchdowns with 38, passing Shane DeSherlia (1999-2002). Rueckemann won the weekly honor by returning a blocked field goal 65 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the first quarter. Had WJC made the field goal, it would have led 10-0 going into the second quarter.

HARRIS RUNS INTO RECORD BOOKS: Redshirt-freshman running back Chris Harris (Springfield, Ill./Sacred Heart-Griffin) climbed into the top spot in Quincy's record book for single-season rushing touchdowns with 15. He is tied with Rob Munson, who ran for 15 touchdowns in 1993 and 1994. His two scores in the fourth quarter gave the Hawks a two-touchdown advantage, scoring from 21 yards out on 4th-and-1 to take a 34-28 lead and scoring on a six-yard run to make it 42-28. Harris rushed 20 times for 122 yards in the game and now has three 100-yard games. He has run for at least 80 yards six times. For the season, he has 799 rushing yards, averaging 4.7 yards per carry.

1, 2, 3, 4 INTERCEPTIONS: The Hawks intercepted William Jewell quarterback Nick West four times last week – their most pickoffs since at least the 2007 season. Redshirt-sophomore Jasus Harkins (O'Fallon, Mo./O'Fallon Township) intercepted the first pass from scrimmage in the first quarter. Senior linebacker Dan Camp (Rochester, Ill.) picked off the first pass after QU took a 14-7 lead in the second quarter. The Hawks scored seven plays later. In the fourth quarter, interceptions by redshirt-freshman safety Keith Craig (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) and sophomore Shelby Wilson (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge) helped seal the win.

DAUGHTRY'S BREAKOUT: Freshman wide receiver D.J. Daughtry (Highland City, Fla./Bartow) entered last week's game with four catches for 47 yards on the season. The 5-foot-8 rookie broke out in a big way on Saturday, catching nine passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns. The scores went for 65 and 46 yards and both came in the second quarter – the final one coming with 23 seconds left to give QU a 28-14 halftime lead. Daughtry made eight of his catches in the first half.

CAMP CLIMBING CHARTS: Camp, who has started all four years at Quincy, is climbing the school's all-time charts when it comes to tackles. He ranks fourth in school history in total tackles (269) and solo tackles (163). Senior linebacker Ike Onike (Lilburn, Ga./Parkview) is fifth in solo tackles (138).

COUGH IT UP: The Hawks are tied atop the GLVC rankings in turnover margin at plus-5 after winning the turnover battle by two last week. The Hawks are third in the league in interceptions (10) and are tied for the fewest interceptions thrown (three).

NEXT UP: The Hawks play their final road game of the season next Saturday (Nov. 8) when they travel to Kirksville, Mo. to take on Truman State (4-3, 3-2 GLVC) travel to Southwest Baptist this Saturday.
